The Movie's Hero Was A Electric Winch
If you saw "Die Hard with a Vengeance," you know that the movie's hero wasn't Bruce Willis or Samuel L
. Jackson. It wasn't even the Dodge Ram they used in the final car chase. Nope, the movie's hero was a electric winch on the front of that Ram. Thanks to it, Willis and Jackson were able to get to the bad guys for a final showing.
Most people don't go around thinking about towing electric winch, or winches at all, but if you ever need one, you'll be glad one is around. An electric winch is a mechanism that winds wire around a drum while keeping a steady tension on it. Towing winches are a type of towing equipment that are powerful enough to pull cars and trucks. On tow trucks, a towing electric winch pulls cars onto either the towing platform, if it's a platform tow truck, or up into the towing sling if it's a drag-style tow truck. Serious off-roaders use winches to pull themselves out of deep mud. The electric winch on the front of the truck in "Die Hard" used its motor, as well as the trucks weight, to slowly and surely release wire for Willis and Jackson to climb on.
One of the first advantages of a hydraulic electric winch is overheating. An electric winch will overheat if you use it too long, and you will have to let it cool down for a while before using it again. It may also get too hot for you to touch. A hydraulic electric winch will never overheat. It will continuously pull for however long you need it.
Battery
Electric winch will only work while the batteries are charged. This type of electric winch can easily drain your battery in less than a minute, so you would need to have a very strong battery. A hydraulic electric winch doesn't rely on your battery power. Therefore, you never have to worry about being stranded because your battery has been drained.
Power
Pulling power is also an advantage of a hydraulic electric winch. Those powered by electricity have a tendency to become bogged down while under heavy loads. A hydraulic electric winch usually has more pulling power than electric winch. The hydraulic type of electric winch will provide a constant pull no matter how much weight it has to pull.
