The Must Needed Camera Accessories

So you have your brand new high quality camera

, now what? Accessories...

To make sure that you don't drop your camera due to a bad camera strap just make sure yours is put together well. Buy a high quality one if needed.

Rather than just walking around with your camera you will probably want a a good camera bag, make sure that it is well made and that your camera fits snuggly. You will want to take some time in picking out a good camera bag to make sure it fits all of your needs. Think about what you will be doing with your camera, will you be climbing mountains? OK, maybe not but still consider that the bag needs to fit all of your other accessories. Look at size, price and function.

You might want to buy an extra lens depending of what type of photography you are doing. There are a lot of lens lengths and focal lenth might vary depending on what you photograph. If you buy a longer lens then you might need more room in your camera bag.

Tripod, are you going to take longer exopsure photos? Portraits? then you might want a tripod, or you can also use a tripod to take self portraits.

Batteries: an extra battery or two is a must. I like to go to theme parks and camping so I can always use an extra battery. You never know when yours will fail.

Flash: Some cameras have a hot shoe or a synch socket to fit a portable flashgun. These are available in several types, but some cameras only work with dedicated "own-brand" flashguns. If yours offers TTL (through the lens) flash metering, this will be the most accurate flash illumination. Most have some sort of automatic mode however. If you set the camera's aperture on the flashgun it will produce exactly enough light to ensure a perfect exposure.

Adapters and chargers: Make sure to have the proper equipment especially if you are traveling outside of the country. You might need an ac adapter.

Filters and protectors: you will need to keep dirt out of your camera in any case so make sure to protect your lense, you could also buy a rain hood to protect your camera in the rain. Some camera bags come with a weather jacket to protect the whole bag, a big one is good so you can change parts inside of the bag.

Don't forget your memory cards, in fact pay close attention to the size of the memory on it. some will tell you how many pictures you can take with them but that will be based on low quality pictures.

Take a lot of time to protect you purchase, cameras are valuable and should be treated with care. You should also make sure you budget accordinly because the accessories can be pricy also.
