The Natural Way To Speed Up Metabolism
There is a lot of nonsense written about metabolism and most of it comes from the
weight loss industry who constantly try to sell us drugs and other supplements which claim to burn body fat by speeding up the metabolic rate. In reality of course these products are unproven and can be harmful to health with some unpleasant side effects. They are not a safe solution to weight loss and they are certainly not the miracle cure for getting rid of unwanted body fat.
The truth is that there is no miracle pill you can take to increase your metabolism and solve your weight problems. Thankfully though, there are plenty of things we can do to increase our metabolism the natural way, though they do require a little effort in order to get some positive results.
Changing your eating pattern is one sure fire way of ensuring that your metabolic rate is kept at high speed to help burn calories continually throughout the day. Start to eat six smaller meals a day as opposed to three larger ones. Make breakfast your largest meal and then reduce the size of the portions for the other meals you eat throughout the day. Make sure you never miss any of the meals because this will cause the metabolic rate to go up and down. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day as it is this meal which kicks the metabolism into life and starts to bur the calories.
Another way of increasing the rate of your metabolism is by exercising. Now dont panic here Im not suggesting that you go an join a gym and spend hours toiling on the machines although it has to be said that resistance training with weights is the best form of exercise as an aid to weight loss because it keeps the rate of metabolism high throughout the day even when you have finished exercising. This means that you will still continue to burn calories even when youre at home sitting on the sofa.
But if youre just starting out on this weigh loss thing I suggest you forget about the gym for now. There are plenty of other forms of exercise you can do to kick start the metabolism and achieve greater weight loss. Try going for a brisk walk for around 45 minutes to an hour, a couple of hours gardening , dance classes or football. Anything which speeds up the heart rate will increase the metabolism. Aim to do at least three sessions each week to begin with but as you start tom enjoy them more increase the length of the sessions or the frequency that you do them.
Try to incorporate a healthy lifestyle into your daily routine. If you can walk to and from work instead or using the car or public transport. If you do need to use the car or public transport, park the car further away from work or get off a few stops early and walk the rest of the way. Try to always use the stairs instead of using lifts or escalators.
By making these few lifestyle changes and sticking to them you will be amazed at the results you achieve. Not only will you lose more weight, youll also increase muscle mass, feel leaner and fitter and youll even start to enjoy the exercise. Go on give it a try, you know you want to.
