I wrote this poem on April 9th 2010.This is me in my most depressed state of mind.I fail to fathom , why at all are we a nation of more than a billion people still fighting amongst ourselves ? We should ideally be marching ahead to conquer newer technologies and systems.Instead everyday we hear news of fighting between the security officials and the Naxalities.Is it not a regression for us to be fighting amongst ourselves in times like these ? Where are our National Leaders ?If there are a few segments of society who feel they have been unfairly dealt with then why are our politicians not taking stock of the situation and solving the problems.We claim to be a developing country and want a permanent seat in the United Nations but we are not able to solve our simple issues pertaining to the people of the country.Don't we feel shame at even calling ourselves a Democratic country when scams and corruption are the norm of day.We call ourselves the future superpower and alas we still are not able to solve our basic internal problems.
It ishigh-time the National Leaders(if at all there are any) wake up and play their role in solving these important issues at home as soon as possible and stop dreaming of seeing India becoming a super-power.
