This new update of WordPress has removed one feature that exists from the starting i.e link manager. Link manager was present in WordPress dashboard since blogging time but now WordPress removed this feature from the dashboard as it was a non vital item and not much used by the webmasters. Even if you use this feature it is still available as a plugin.
Welcome Screen more User Friendly
Version 3.5 comes up with a major improvement in the welcome screen and created a user friendly panel specially to assist the new users. The WordPress admin panel used to be a little complicated and not much convenient for the new users. But the improved welcome screen highlighted all the basic tasks that a new user may need along with a better user-interface like it has a new button Customize Your Site which takes you directly to the customization screen where you can change the appearance of theme.
