The handset has a large 4 inch capacitive touch screen display with 16:9 (widescreen) nHD (640 by 360 pixels) AMOLED resolution, capable of rendering up to 16 million colours and including an accelerometer to switch seamlessly between portrait and landscape with the handsets physical movement. The touch screen features both an onscreen alphanumeric keypad and full keyboard with finger touch support for text input along with user interface control, while it also has a full slide out QWERTY keyboard for additionally fast and seamless text input.

The E7 runs the Symbian 3 operating system and includes three csutomisable home screens with the ability to differ the menus, widgets, themes, shortcuts and icons respectively. Connectivity is impressive with Bluetooth 3.0 along with a microUSB connector and charging point for high speed USB 2.0 for fast file sharing and syncing capabilities. Additionally, it features traditional 3.5mm audio jack connection for headphones. The handset has an internal memory 16 gigabytes allowing plenty of opportunity to download further apps and more.

The phone has an 8 megapixel camera with a fullscreen 16:9 viewfinder including simple touch screen parameters along with a dual LED flash and face recognition software. Digit zoom is at up to 2 times with image capture and 3 times with video recording which is in High Definition 720 pixel resolution and shoots in 16:9 (widescreen) ratio. There is also a secondary VGA camera present on the front of the device for video calling. Video playback is possible on a compatible HD television through the HDMI connection which the phone also features.

The handset also has both internal GPS and Assisted GPS receivers which offer Ovi Maps including free car and pedestrian step by step navigation along with Wi-Fi positioning . Additionally, the handset features a digital compass and accelerometer for correct orientation of display between portrait and landscape. The Ovi Suite meanwhile, lets you keep up to date with the Maps constantly.

The Nokia E7 is an impressive handset featuring an 8 megapixel camera along with both onscreen and keyboard input to choose from in addition to the simplistic user interface control through the large AMOLED touch display.
