The Private School Advantage Has Many Benefits For Children

There are definitely many benefits of giving children The Private School Advantage

. Although there are numerous excellent public schools, they are not able to give each and every child individual attention because they usually have large numbers of pupils. Sending a child to a private school may be costly but the rewards are many.

One major advantage is that the child will be more academically challenged. Private schools usually have a very rigorous curriculum and students have to work hard to maintain good results. But, perhaps the biggest plus factor about private education is that class sizes are small. The teacher-student ratio enables every child to form a personal relationship with teachers.

This certainly helps the student to achieve his or her maximum potential. Problem areas can be easily identified and resolved quickly. This is particularly important in the early years of a child's education. A small class also enables the teacher to get to know the student on a personal level and discover his or her weaknesses and strengths.

Children also gain self-confidence because they are encouraged to participate in classroom discussions. This gives them the chance to express their opinions while learning to listen to what others have to say. When these skills are developed at an early age, the student is less likely to become intimidated by other people in later life.

Private schools usually adopt the same curriculum as public schools but they have the advantage of adding other elements to it. For example, the administrator or principal may wish to introduce certain programs that focus on the performing arts, culture, sports or community-orientated projects. These take the form of clubs, associations and societies which the children are encouraged to join.

Tuition fees are higher to enable the school to develop and fund special projects. These also include field trips that provide hands-on experience of what has been learned in the classroom. During these excursions, students are also faced with mental and physical challenges. This helps them develop independence and how to work in a team.

Schools often produce spectacular stage productions that involve each student in some way. This gives them the chance to explore their talents, be it acting on stage, or costume making, set design, lighting or stage direction. Such lavish productions are not possible in most public schools because of spending restrictions. Some schools even offer courses on video production and film-making.

The quality of teaching staff is another big factor. Because private establishments do not have to pay teachers according to a pre-determined governmental salary structure, they are able to offer competitive salaries. Therefore, a high caliber of teachers is acquired. A qualified, experienced teacher can earn just as much as someone with a good job in the business sector.

If you decide to give your son or daughter the Private School Advantage, he or she will also develop a strong sense of loyalty and pride to the school community. Many schools offer an alumni mentorship program which connects old members to newly graduated students. New members can often get internship offers and other opportunities from such a program.
