. Forget the usual electronic greeting card, emails, and personal messages over at social networking sites. Those are quite impersonal and do not leave a lasting mark on the receiver. Make your friend or family feel extra special by sending a greeting card for his or her special occasion. Or even on those days that you just miss them terribly and want to say a warm hello to them. Take time to make personalized greeting cards. Customize your design and write a heartfelt message that can make the ocean divide more bearable.
Before, greeting cards have been the way our parents used to share their innermost sentiments to their family members and friends. During special occasions as well as on ordinary days, they send greeting cards to show their love and affection. During birthdays and graduation days, these greeting cards were also the common way of sending our heartfelt wishes for new beginnings. Nowadays, however, you can easily send an electronic greeting card via mail. The process can be quick and the delivery immediate, but still you know that it is impersonal. Moreover, it can be easily deleted or thrown to the recycle bin.
If you are considering sending personalized greeting cards, here are some guidelines you may want to look at.
- Create a unique concept. Make the design project twice the fun by making a concept that differs from the usual. You may want to use a different paper size and paper stock, a unique shape that can still fit the usual mail. Or if that does not work out, requires special delivery.
- Consider any object that you associate with the receiver bag, shoes, jewelry, etc. or even concepts, such as travelling on an airplane or riding a hot air balloon. You can keep your imagination soar. Do not limit yourself when it comes to design.
- Once you have finalized your design idea, lay it out. You may want to use Adobe Photoshop as your design software or simple computer programs, such as Microsoft Publisher to put your design idea into print.
- Use colors, different font styles, framing, lines and objects. Incorporate these design elements to create a unique design template. However, you need to make all these elements jive with one another. Doing this can be quite tricky, but you just need your design sensibilities to rule over.
- Always apply design concepts such as balance, symmetry and aesthetics. Your personalized greeting cards must be visually appealing. Your end goal in mind is to make a design that the receiver will appreciate and keep for posterity.
- Make the necessary revisions. You may want to test print the greeting card first to look at the quality. Then, you can edit the design template accordingly. Make sure, too, that the print settings on your computer match the one that is on your printer.
- You may want to use colored paper stock. There are different paper stocks as well as colors that you can choose from. Find the paper stock that is the most ideal. This also applies to the ink type that you will use.
- Create a heartwarming message. Or make it humorous of comical; it all depends on you and how you would like your receiver to respond on your personalized greeting card.
