You will want to check the filter occasionally as well. Make sure that nothing is clogging the filter or getting into the pump. This takes only a few minutes, and you should only have to do it a few times per year. You can simply rinse it off in some clean water that's all there is to it!

When the colder months of the year are on their way, you may want to remove the fountain. If you live in an area where the water freezes and it snows, you must remove the fountain from the pond. Otherwise, you risk destroying the it.
