Not only can people use energy conservation to save money on their household and office building expenses, but they can also use it to save money with their automobiles. Many car manufacturers offer more energy efficient choices such as hybrid and electric automobiles. These vehicles not only save the consumers money, but are also good for the environment because they do not deplete the supplies of natural resources. About a year ago, the federal government issued a plan entitled Cash for Clunkers that encouraged drivers of old, fuel-burning cars to trade them in for newer, more energy efficient editions for a large reimbursement.

Overall, there are a lot of ways that individuals can benefit from using less energy, and there are many different options to do so. The bigger the change that people make, the more money they will save. While not all people have the means to replace their appliances or vehicles at the moment, most people can make simple changes, like adjusting the temperature of their thermostat. Regardless of what their financial situation may be, everyone is able to benefit from using less energy.
