The rock and roll band of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers put out a brand new album this week

. They have just begun a tour that runs throughout October. The first album of Pettys is "Mojo", the Heartbreakers since 2002's "The Last DJ". Tom Petty's music is a staple of American rock, including such hits as "Breakdown", "American Girl" and "Free Fallin'". Petty has fronted this important American rock band for 35 years, starting in a garage in Gainesville, Florida. The Heartbreakers showcased on "Mojo" line up including guitarists Mike Campbell and Scott Thurston, keyboardist Benmont Tench, bassist Ron Blair and drummer Steve Ferrone. The latest album of the Pettys "Mojo" is really a blues infused outing for the 59 year old Petty and his partners. Mojo is Petty's first record in eight years with the Heartbreakers.Tom Petty appeared on the Tavis Smiley Show on PBS, talking about "Mojo". Discussing the album, Petty said "We're leaning more to the blues side of things". As he talked about trying to capture the music in the moment, Petty stated "It's all about the feel." Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers has always been a rock 'n' roll band. But "Mojo," a mostly blues-rock opus clocking in at nearly 65 minutes, is for those who've been waiting for the long-lived group to let the throttle out all the way.

The new album's "Something Good Coming" is a beautiful ballad and a song that goes straight to the soul. The lyrics are hopeful about the possibilities ahead: "There's something lucky about this place. There's something good coming for you and me". Recently in June 14th, the rocking band of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers return to our lives with their first studio album in eight years, Mojo. This song, I Should Have Known It is the first single from the album which is released on the same day, and as always the Beehive is proud to bring a first look video to you for your perusal. On September 16, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers bring their summer tour to the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa. Petty and his band are touring to promote the June 15 release of their latest album. The Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers concert, which was originally scheduled for June 2, has been postponed to September 28. According to The San Diego Union Tribune, Tom along with his gang has decided to postpone all of their concerts between May 6 and June 2, so that their tour could better coincide with the release of their new album. As a result, Joe Cocker who was supposed to open for Petty and his band on June 2 will no longer be the opening act. ZZ Top, the blues rock trio from Texas, is now the opening act for the September 28th show.
