A high IQ may help you land a high-paying job but it will not ensure that you will get along well with your co-workers or with your boss

However, your chance of being promoted to higher management or leadership positions might be low if your emotional quotient or EQ is not complementary with your IQ.
Whatever the organization setting might be, good leadership always involve high EQ. Leadership is mainly about the ability to motivate people in a positive way in order to achieve common goals. It is the ability to emotionally connect with others and help them develop the strong commitment to the organization. People with high EQ can relate well with others and have the ability to influence.
Right attitude
People who have high EQ have better chance to succeed in any difficult endeavor that requires teamwork. On the other hand, many people who have high IQ still turn out to be failures in many aspects of life and career because they have the weak ability to deal with their own emotions and the emotions of other people.
Oftentimes, intelligent people fail because they do not have the right attitude. They might be too arrogant or too shy or unmotivated. They might easily give up when things become tough. Right attitude is always important, especially when it comes to leadership. Nonetheless, striving to be universally liked is not the main objective of leadership. It is only an incidental consequence of having the right attitude.
