The Shrinking of Waste through Refuse Derived Fuel Process
The Shrinking of Waste through Refuse Derived Fuel Process
Our activities have generated too much waste and are often discarded because they are considered as useless. These materials are unwanted and thrown away and directed to landfills site causing significant problems. However; most of these waste can be recycled and treated for the recovery of energy from waste. An integrated approach is proposed through the use of the refuse derived fuel process that has the ability to turn waste into an environmental friendly type of fuel.
As we all know, the electricity that we use to light up our homes uses fossil fuel and coal generated electricity. The industrial production of electricity fumes up too much hazardous green house gases into the atmosphere and depletes the environments resources. The challenge that is involved in the process of recovering energy is a complicated method however; with recycling and the refuse derived fuel process it becomes achievable.
What is refuse derived fuel process (RDF process)?
A refuse derived fuel process (RDF process) is a unique method of treating waste through combustion pertaining controlled amounts of oxygen. It begins with the initial process of screening waste that is being fed into the conveyor belt. Through this phase, waste that could be recycled is separated from those that contain high calorific value. Waste that could be reused is sanitized and sold back to its perspective market. On the other hand, waste containing high calorific value is directed to a combustion chamber where the RDF process is applied.
The feedstock (waste) enters the combustion chamber where controlled amounts of oxygen are applied. Here, solid waste alters its chemical composition to a liquid phase that will be the source of an environmental friendly type f fuel. The refuse derived fuel process secures waste into a tightly sealed chamber to ensure that there is no hazardous emission made.
Through the combined prowess of the refuse derived fuel and recycling method; we diminish issues of growing waste and scarcity of sanitary landfill sites. It also promotes a cleaner and more sustainable source of electricity without effecting the environment. It fights the causes of climate change by diminishing its major contributors of hazardous green house gases.
