The Simplest Potty Learning Tips You Can Use

It can be a frustrating experience to try and potty train a child

. Sure, there are some lucky parents out there who just seem to have toddlers that potty train with no trouble at all. It's unfortunate, but most of us just aren't that lucky! Getting the right advice can help to ensure that this is a smooth process.

Potty training readiness is key. A big clue is when they are able to tell you that they need to use the potty. They should also be able to follow simple commands from you. Some children are not ready as soon as other children -- don't stress if yours is going to be a little older than most! Some train as early as 1.5 while others might need to be trained when they are 3 years old. Boys can sometimes take longer to learn to use the potty than girls!

You can get started once you are sure your little one is ready. There are a variety of different methods you can choose between. Some recommend having a "naked potty bootcamp" where you let your child stay nude so they can more easily recognize when they need to go potty. They won't be able to rely on a diaper to capture the wetness for them!

There are even some methods out there that recommend having a party for your child. This is a "potty party" where they graduate and no longer need to use their diapers. This works well for some children.

You really have to focus on the personality of your toddler. Investigate your options and choose the one that will work best for your family. Most families do well with a potty training doll, because it offers an excellent learning opportunity. Your toddler can act as a teacher toward the doll, and learn themselves along the way.

The point here is that there are many different secrets when it comes to potty training, but what works well for one might not necessarily work well for another. You can do your child a great service if you pay attention to their cues and personality style before settling on a method for potty training.
