, the Sony Ericsson Vivaz has proven popular since its release in March 2010. Boasting high specification features, especially in the areas of media playback and recording, the Vivaz is arguably the ultimate entertainment mobile.
The impressive 3.2 inch TFT resistive touch screen boasts the ability to display up to 16M colours within a pixel layout of 360x 640, so levels of clarity and detail within the on screen imagery is extremely high. An accelerometer sensor is built into the screen providing an auto-rotate function, so the screen can be viewed in both portrait and landscape forms dependent upon the orientation of the handset.
The Vivaz is an attractive handset, with simple styling and a slimline profile (dimensions are 107x 51.7x 12.5 mm). It is also light weight at just 97 g making it a comfortable handset to hold and use on the move. That if as is available in an array of colour variants ranging from silver Moon, cosmic black, galaxy blue and Venus Ruby. Therefore a colour variant to suit most tastes is sure to be found, appealing to style conscious users.
The built in digital camera has one of the Vivaz's most appealing hardware features. It boasts 8 mega pixels offering exceptional quality of still images. A wealth of image enhancing features is included ranging from Autofocus, an LED flash, touch focus and face & smile detection. The camera also boasts the ability to shoot video in HD quality (
720p @ 24fps). Even the video function is joined by a continuous Autofocus and a video light for a top quality video footage even in low lighting conditions.
Internal memory within the Sony Ericsson Vivaz is 75 MB of storage which is ample for storing a good number of files such as music tracks, video clips and photos. A micro SD slot is included for the same purpose which comes with a pre-installed 8 GB memory card as standard. Should further storage be required, this can be swapped with a memory card of up to 16 GB.
The Sony Ericsson Vivaz employs a number of different connectivity methods so the optimum connectivity is achieved dependent upon location and network coverage. In order to stay connected to cellular networks, class 10 versions of both EDGE & GPRS are utilised. In areas covered by 3G, access to the Internet is provided courtesy of an HSDPA connection at speeds of up to 10.2 mega bytes per second in conjunction with HSUPA at 2 MB per second. Wi-Fi Technology provides a much faster connection in areas where a wireless Internet router is located. Both Bluetooth and micro USB connections provide the means to connect the Sony Ericsson Vivaz to a number of different devices including other phones and computers. This allows a range of different tasks to be carried out such as backing up contact information or sharing and transferring media files.
Thanks to its impressive list of specifications and media playback functions, the Sony Ericsson Vivaz looks sure to remain an appealing handset for quite some time especially given its aesthetic appeal.
