What kind of water do you have in your home? Do you know where your water is coming from
? Did you know that there are two different types of ways that water is brought to your home into your tap water? The two different types are ground water or surface water.
The first type that we are going to go over is the groundwater source. A good point about this type of source is that it is less likely to get contaminated. Surface water is more likely to get contaminated and requires a lot more treating then groundwater source. Just because it is less likely to get contaminated does not mean that it can't get contaminated. Groundwater gets contaminated naturally.
For example it can have high iron and manganese. High iron and manganese can cause problems for you and your home. The way you can tell if this is the problem that you are having is because it will stain your clothes and it will also stain your faucets and things. Another problem that you may run into with groundwater is that horrible rotten egg smell. If you run into this problem it is because you have high concentrates of hydrogen sulfide gas.
The second type of water source that may be brining the water into your home is the surface water source. This type is more commonly used in cities and larger areas. These types pull the water from lakes and streams. Because of pollution this water source is more likely to get contaminated. This water source requires more chemical treatment before it even reaches your home or business.
The top two containments that can happen with surface water are Giardia and Cryptosporidium. Giardia is a parasite that goes into the intestines.
Cryptosporidium is also a parasite that attacks the intestines this parasite can cause diarrhea. Because of problem like these the water is treated with chemicals and filtered thru. Unfortunately they have to use chemicals to treat the tap water. The water is just not as pure and clean as it should be.
These type problems can be fixed very easily with a water treatment unit. You may just need a faucet water softener or you may need a home water treatment unit that filters the water that runs thru your entire home or business. Having a water treatment in your home is very beneficial for you and you family.
