Themed Birthday Party Ideas

Some of our fondest childhood memories involve birthday parties when the whole neighborhood gang got together to join in the fun of celebrating

. Your children also are remembering each of their birthdays and will cherish these memories for years.

When it comes time to plan your child's next birthday party, why not try to be as imaginative as possible to make the day extra special? Today there are so many wonderful birthday party ideas to choose from that planning the big event is a whole lot of fun!

Throwing a themed birthday party is always a great idea your child and his friends would certainly be delighted. For example, if Star Wars is a favorite with the gang, you can order the cake to be made in the shape of a spaceship and choose from one of the many space-related birthday cake toppers available to adorn the top of it.

For the party entertainment, you can have all of the classic Star Wars movies on DVD and show them one after another throughout the party. You could also ask the kids to come dressed as their favorite characters and then have them do a bit of role playing for a fun-filled activity. Surely the kids know their favorite scenes by heart and this will certainly provide everyone with a good laugh.

Another idea is to have a contest wherein the kids are divided up on teams and then asked a series of Star-Wars related questions. The winning team could be awarded with special novelty hats that are space-related. Of course the other teams should receive birthday hats as well so that everyone gets a special reward for taking part in the game. You could even divide the party area into two sides, with one being the 'dark side' and the other the 'light side' and decorate them accordingly.

Star Wars is a much loved movie series that has been delighting kids since the late 1970s and still today there are many Star Wars birthday party supplies available. You can find a wide assortment by shopping online at one of the many party supply retailers. Be sure to pick up some Luke Skywalker and Yoda paper plates, a few Star Wars posters and some glow in the dark toys such as 'light sabers' to pass out to the kids as party favors.
