. It impacts us in many different aspects of our life. Although it may not be as groundbreaking as the wheel, fire or the airplane it still is quite significant. You just wouldn't know it.
The area of life where it would be most prominent and have the highest profile is personal entertainment. LCD Televisions are now the big thing and offer the latest in quality viewing. Things have come a long way since the old black and white boxes. They have further even more following the regular color television.

Similar many alarm clocks have a display screen that feature LCD technology. Without these you would find it hard to wake up in the morning. You could sleep in and that would ruin your whole day. Also it is good to have a way to tell the time that is efficient and easy. Some LCD display screens display the numbers in a way that makes them viewable in the dark. This means that if you wake up in the middle of the night, you can easily see what time it is.
These days LCD technology is most prominent when it comes to computer monitors. There are millions of monitors in the world and most of them run on the back of LCD technology. People have them at home and at work and then at work there could be a few per person. This is a long way away from the time when people thought that there would only be a few computers in the world for individuals. The rest would be for corporations and organizations.
If you are going to be looking at a monitor all day you want to make sure that it is always giving you a crisp and clean image. Otherwise your eyes are going to start to hurt and you are going to get headaches. This is the last thing you want if you are going to be looking at it day after day, week after week, month after month. LCD technology takes this into account and makes sure that your eyes aren't going to be affected adversely from looking at it all day.
