Ingen som spiller dataspill, heller ikke dem som liker World of Warcraft, br ringe Hjelpelinja for spilleavhengige. Mange samtaler kan bety et nytt forbud.

I 2005 mottok Hjelpelinja for spilleavhengige 2 133 samtaler fra eller om personer som har et egendefinert spilleproblem. Liberaleren latterliggjorde tiltaket p grunn av et svrt lavt tall. Det politiske flertallet var uenig. Frst kom seddelforbudet p automater, s kom forbudet og snart er det klart for det statlige monopolet p gevinstautomater i regi av Norsk Tipping. I tillegg er de fleste spill fortsatt ulovlig i Norge, for eksempel poker. Hjelpelinja for spilleavhengige er en del av rsaken til at politikerne ikke aksepterer personlig frihet og personlig ansvar p spillomrdet i Norge.

Hjelpelinja for spilleavhengige har presentert statistikken for frste halvr av 2007. Hjelpelinja har kun mottatt 705 samtaler. Det er en reduksjon i forhold til samme periode i 2006, og tallet er fortsatt svrt lavt. Altfor lavt til at gambling skal f s stor oppmerksomhet fra politikerne.

Det som bekymret skribenten litt er at Hjelpelinja har mottatt 96 samtaler om spill uten penger, blant annet fra personer som spiller World of Warcraft. 96 samtaler er en bagatell, men det er en betydelig kning i forhold til samme periode i 2006. Hvis utviklingen fortsetter, kan det komme politiske krav om forbud p PC og TV-spill. Forbud p TV-spill hres ut som et urealistisk mareritt, men Lotteri og stiftelsestilsynet advarer mot utviklingen.

Do any of you vanilla WoW players remember how terrifying Teremus the Devourer used to be? He was among the very first world bosses, and boy was he annoying. He was immune to fire damage, frost damage, and magic-based DoTs. Seriously? Immune to fire, frost and DoTs? Yeah, he was brutal. It was perfectly normal to find him rampaging through Stormwind thanks to a friendly hunter kiting him to town.

You have patch 0.9 (Aug. 17, 2004) to thank for Teremus' rather ... aggressive nature. He was in the game world before that, but he would leave you alone as long as you left him alone. As of patch 0.9, he turned into a lowbie ganking machine.

Other patch 0.9 highlights:

* Hunters opened up for play testing -- yes, after mages and warriors were given talent trees. And they could use shields.

* Priests and rogues received the first iteration of their talent trees.

* Micro-dungeon redesigns were put in.
