Before you begin installing floor tiles, consider these tile patterns. Putting in a little extra effort now will be well worth it for many years to come. Your tile floors deserve much investment of your time and effort since it plays such a large role in grabbing the attention of your guests. It is more than just a walking surface. If you are looking for extra ideas, consider these tile patterns below.

Tile Patterns - Grid

This is the most common of all tile patterns, but also the most mundane. These are typical square tiles that are arranged one atop the other and side by side, just like a grid. Try to avoid this method since this is a dime a dozen.

Tile Patterns - Diamond

This is exactly like the grid pattern, but everything is rotated 45 degrees. All the tiles appear like diamonds. This is much better than the grid, but also takes a little more labor and measuring to make sure it is at a proper angle to begin.

Tile Patterns - Basket

Take two or three tiles and lay vertically, and it should be in the shape of a square. Also, lay the same number of tiles horizontally and repeat the pattern. This is more interesting because the squares (inside the grid) are divided into three pieces.

Tile Patterns - Road

This resembles a by stacking square and rectangular shaped tiles. First, place lay out a row of square tiles. On top of that, lay a horizontal row of rectangular tiles, and then another row above that. Repeat by placing your square tiles above the 2 rectangular rows.

Tile Patterns - Pinwheel

Start in the middle of the floor and lay down a square tile. Next, lay a rectangle tile above that, then square the end of the rectangle with the top left corner of the square. A portion of your rectangle should be above over the top right of the square. Lay down another rectangle on the right side, up against this overhang. Repeat this around the boundary.
