Tips On How To Avoid Excessive Stuff Around The House
A lot of people just do not like to throw things away
. They always seem to think that one day they may just need it and it will be too late if it has already been thrown. But this never seems to be the case. Here are a few tips that I use and it certainly makes for a happier household.
Clutter is not only an eye sore but it can lead to all sorts of tensions in the household. The fact is we just don't seem to be able to cope with clutter.
Why don't you just start by taking all you broken toys and electrical items and place them into a box. You then list everything on the box along with the date you put them in there. Now you can store the box in your garage.
You can then store the box for about 30 days. If you need to use something out of the box then go ahead and use it but knock the item off the list.
After the initial thirty day period is up you can then move the box somewhere out of sight. Again if you really need something from the box then go and get it out.
Once 60 days are up you can then get the box and toss it into the garbage. The chance that you need something after 60 days is very minimal indeed. Obviously this does not include seasonal items.
This system can work on absolutely any items in the house. The only reason why we decided to start with broken things is that these are the items that people generally keep because they promise that they are going to fix them sometime soon but never do.
The kid's rooms are always cluttered up so you could teach them to do this about once a month or so. It is a great way for them to get rid of any toys that they no longer use and it also keeps their rooms clutter free and clean.
