. But it is interesting how a lot of people play the game by luck, without knowing that there are ways to actually win the game with thought. Thus, here are some Minesweeper tips that will guide you to a quick and thoughtful win.

Basically, your goal is to find all the mines, and if available, beat your previous records, which is based on your time. Thus, before beginning, you can actually turn off the (?) marks so that you do not spend too much time correcting the mislabeled position of the mine. To do this, go to Game, and click Marks (?).

The first click is always random. You may get a small on big area covered, but it is said that left-clicking randomly in a circular motion will gain your bigger openings. Then onto the game, try to begin from one corner to a certain direction so that you cover the area systematically, instead of wondering which you have not touched. Also, do not be afraid to use left-right click to hint the areas a number covers.

One of the biggest time-saving Minesweeper tips is wall pattern recognition. For example, if the was a 3 touching only 3 unopened plots, you would definitely know that the 3 are definitely mines, and then you can flag them. Other examples are like the sequence 1-2-1 against 3 remaining unopened plots in the area; you would realize that the two 1s cannot overlap one another so the middle unopened plot would be the one without the mine. With practice, you will be able to remember such wall patterns and would eliminate the time needed for you to analyze.

Another thing is that you do not have to mark every single mine unless you have difficulty remembering the areas you have touched. Some examples which you do not have to mark are the corner ones surrounded by 1s. This is because once you have opened all the non-mine plots, the mines will be marked automatically. Remember, time is of essence.

Lastly, when it comes to the time where you will need to guess, just make a guess right away as there will not be any intelligent analysis to this. You may make a best time if you guess correctly with those seconds; otherwise, you can restart. This game is after all, partially guess work.
