Installing wall to wall carpet is very challenging. You will not be able to do it by yourself. You need proper equipment and help from other. Here are some tips you can do to install the carpet.

As the first step, you have to measure the room on its length and its width. Then, prepare all the equipment you will need such as quality knee kicker, tackless strips for covering the diameter of the room, or double sided tape. Also, you have to make sure that the floor is dry, smooth, firm and clean. If you find any loose board or protruding nail, you can secure them using hammer. Removing any remaining old carpet is necessary so that you will have the even and smooth base. Clean the surface for your carpet from any dust.

After you are sure that the floor surface is read for the carpet, you can go to the next step, laying the padding. Firstly, you have to lay the carpet in roughly position. Let half of the carpet lay back while the second half lay at a time. Secure it with the tackless strips or girders around the room edge. The tackless strips should be inches from the wall. Then, nail it using hammer to the floor. Instead, you can also use double sided tape. Although it is not able to provide protection as secure as the tackless strips, it can also work adequately for your carpet. Then, secure the fading to the wooden floor using rustproof stables.

The last thing you have to do is to lay your carpet. Firstly, you have to position your carpet about inch turning up against the two adjacent walls. Hook your carpet using the tackless strips on one side. Then, you can lengthen the carpet throughout the room by using the knee kicker. Hook your carpet in one corner by using tackless strips. It will secure the carpet along the wall to another corner. Secure it firmly to the wall from the first to the second corners.

Then, smooth the carpet on the corner against the second corner. You can secure it to tackless strip along the wall from the first corner. Kneel on your carpet. The knee kicker should be on the floor. Press the teeth of the knee kicker to the carpet. With your knee, knock the padded forward. Keep on this process to reach the wall facing you. Then, hook the carpet to the tackless strip. Repeat this on another edge. The last thing is to trim the excess of the carpet for one inch and then press it under baseboard.
