Liberty Island:

The Lady Liberty is a universally recognized symbol of all that the United States of America stands for - liberty, democracy and justice to all. The statute was originally presented to the US by France in the late 1880's. The statue is located on Liberty Island atop a pedestal that is about 89 feet tall. The statue itself is approximately 152 feet tall. You can approach the statue from the water through a ferry ride from Battery Park. Following the September 11 attacks, the crown of the statue was closed to visitors but the same reopened after 2009.

Times Square:

If you want to behold the frenetic pace of life in NYC, then Times Square is the place to go. It is a veritable cacophony of experiences with flashing lights and shoulder-to-shoulder crowds. The place is no doubt among the best in the world when it comes to offering a sensory overload, what with huge billboards, flashing lights, TV broadcasts and street performers who put up some of the best displays you can imagine.

Rockefeller Center:

In the Christmas season, the Center becomes a wonderland, with sights and sounds that ring a nostalgic bell in the heart of visitors. The Rockefeller Center is also home to Radio City, NBC, Christie's Auction House and the Music Hall. Their famous skating rink draws more than half a million visitors every year.

Central Park:

First of the many parks designed in NYC, this one is huge with an acreage that can really drive visitors giddy. The park is home to several lakes, playgrounds, ice rinks, fountains, tennis courts, baseball fields and so on. The Central park Zoo and the Metropolitan Museum is worth a visit too.
