Top Grounds Leading To Teacher Dismissal
As an educator, you seriously don't want to experience teacher dismissal
. Therefore, what you need is an awareness of the grounds or bases that can contribute to such a decision. After all, schools and institutions do not hesitate to impose penalties for any teacher who violates their rules.
As a teacher myself, I know that it can now be a challenge for us to keep our profession alive, most especially if this has already been our bread and butter for years. It is our responsibility to keep our job and be as effective as we can be in order for us to not be dismissed. If you fear that you might lose your job, here are some grounds that we must avoid and in a way be guided as well.
Ground 1: Incompetence. This is a solid basis for a teacher to be discharged. As far as possible, teachers should be responsible to expand their knowledge and update themselves as often as possible. Some lessons of the past may not be appropriate for today. Therefore, we must be aware of the changes and incorporate it into our classes and lectures as well. If there are seminars closely associated with individuals who may be a factor that contributes to our knowledge, better grab that. It would be difficult for us to limit and be satisfied with our current learning and stop gaining new knowledge in general.
Ground 2: Insubordination. Teachers by all means should never disrespect the higher authorities in school. We must fully comply with what they want but also assess whether they ask is fair or not. If you think however that what they need from you is legitimate, then there is nothing to do but follow the orders. However, there are also tasks that should not be followed, especially if it is away from our principles or simply wrong in the first place. If there are cases like this, you can consult the supervisor or the superintendent and consult on the matter.
Ground 3: Neglect of duties. If you happen to neglect your duties as a teacher, then the school has the right to release you or fire you. As much as possible, never do this, even if your enthusiasm towards the profession is no longer there. If you don't want to do your teaching job, it is better to resign. After all you will not be the only one suffering. It will be your students who suffer; especially if you are no longer attending classes and educating them on the subject.
To date, there are many other reasons that can lead to dismissal. Other areas include immorality, encouraging students to break the law, failure to maintain necessary educational training and more. But if you've been doing your job correctly, then you need not fear being fired. Teacher dismissal only applies to those who are doing the grounds and simply don't do anything for the betterment of themselves.
