Top Rated Speakers Under $400

If you're into electronics, you probably know the golden rule; when you go cheap

, expect to be disappointed. However, there are many speaker systems for your home theater priced under $400 that can provide a higher quality than one would expect. If you're looking to enhance your sound system and you're on a budget, I have a great option for you.

This guide will share with you my favorite system under $400 as well as options to improve this stock system when you're comfortable spending more money. I've recently purchased a new surround sound system, so this information is based on many hours of research recently conducted.

The system that I was most surprised by is the Fluance AVHTB+. This speaker system can be purchased for approximately $200. What's unique about these speakers and makes it so cost effective is that they don't rely on a sub-woofer to deliver the deep tones of the bass. These speakers are large which allowed them to include the delivery of the low frequency sounds in the front-channel speakers.

I was definitely surprised when I found these full-range speakers, especially considering the moderate price tag. It's safe to say that these speakers perform at a higher level than the price tag on them.

These solid wood speakers, which weigh 27lbs each, have been magnetically protected so it's safe to place them on the sides of the TV. There are a few aspects of these speakers that are a bit old-fashioned, their size and weight and the fact that the speakers are responsible for delivering all frequency tones.

Now if you're really into bass, you may want to consider adding a sub-woofer. You can purchase a sub-woofer for approximately $200 to go with this system. If you're room is 250 square feet or smaller, than the two front-channel speakers will do just fine. If the rooms on the larger side, than it would be a good investment to add on if you're into the bass.

It doesn't stop with the addition of a sub-woofer. If you find you want to add to your system and bring the sounds to another level, you can add Fluance's rear-channel speakers. These can be purchased for $100 each (approximately) and now you'll have a six or seven channel surround sound system.

This is just one of many options available in this price range. With the convenience of shopping online these days, make sure to search around before making any purchases. I also recommend going into a store to hear the sound, before making your final purchase as well. Good luck and enjoy the entertainment!
