There are four different components of transformational leadership. The very first one is individual stimulation that is not only challenge the status quo. But they also motivate creativeness among others. The leaders always motivate the works to find out new ways of doing things and new opportunities to learn and acquire. They help the workers experience the same passion and motivation to achieve the targets. Last component is idealized influence that serves as a role model for workers. The workers trust and respect the leaders and they follow the ideas of their leaders.
Transformational leadership has spread already in all sectors of western world as a developmental tool. For example, the Finnish Defence Forces is using widely Deep Lead Model as basic solution of its leadership training and development. The Deep Lead Model is based on the theory of transformational leadership.
