Treat Yourself With A Personalised Chocolate Bar
Sometimes you just have one of those days where you just feel absolutely rubbish
. The bus was running late so you turned up twenty minutes late to a meeting and you tried to win your clients over but they had decided you are tardy and thus irresponsible so they don't close a deal; you get some food shopping and the bag breaks and cracks your eggs all over the floor; you pop back later that day to get some eggs in your slouchy jogging bottoms and run into your ex boyfriend who, instead of rocking back and forth in a dark room in utter devastation that you are absent from his life, is with his new exquisitely-dressed and preened girlfriend - you buy a tub of ice cream to binge instead; that one bit of your fringe just won't stop sticking up; you decide to wear your sexy pencil skirt to work only to realise once sat down at your desk that you have not shaved your legs for a week and you don't have any tights. Essentially it sometimes feels as if your life is the lyrics to Alanis's "Ironic."
Although life probably is not that bad, what this all comes down to is that everyone needs a bit of "me" time where they treat themselves to something a little bit naughty to make themselves feel better. Everyone needs a bit of a pick me up sometimes, that is for sure. For some people it is the odd tipple of their favourite spirit, for some it is taking time out to read a good book and other people enjoy unwinding with a film. But, it is safe to say that everyone who is having a bad time enjoys the comfort of a high-quality piece of chocolate.
A recent trend in gift giving is personalised chocolate bars. Not only are they a sweet treat, but they are a unique present which shows that instead of just buying your average box of chocolates, you have gone to the extent of designing a wrapper that suits the event or their personality as well as writing a lovely message on it. But, sometimes it is worth going to all that effort for yourself!
Chocolate can be used as a great motivator. A fantastic idea for personalised chocolate bars is to really use them as a reward system. One of the designs you can choose shows a day by day plan so it shows you where to break pieces off per day. You can link this in with your daily to-do list. At the end of the day, when you have finished everything you needed to get done, you can treat yourself to a square of yummy milky chocolate! You can also use it to motivate yourself in different ways. You can set yourself targets, for example, tell five people how lovely they look today, or make a list of five things that you love about your life, husband, kids, dog, job or perhaps five different things you want to do at the gym. Then at the end of the day you can reward yourself with a square of yummy chocolate.
Similarly you can write messages to yourself on the wrappers to remind you of something. If you feel your life has been described above, maybe write out a list of inspirational quotes and messages, or even have photos put on the chocolate bars so that you get a pick up for your mind as well as your tastebuds. Some women have even, rather surprisingly, used the customised choccy bars to help them achieve weight loss. By having motivational messages written on the side, or messages encouraging them to think twice about eating the chocolate, they have found they eat less junk but when they do have a piece of this gorgeous high quality chocolate, they really savour and enjoy it.
Having a customised bar of chocolate is also a great idea if you are living in a communal environment. When you are sharing a fridge with a lot of people, the worst thing is when something you have been really looking forward to eating is nabbed by a housemate who claims that what they ate is actually theirs (even when it blatantly isn't). With a personalised wrapper on the chocolate, housemates will be less inclined to lie (but possibly not less inclined to eat your chocolate!). This is also a very good tip for when you are sharing a fridge in the office - you need to make sure you can indulge your sweet tooth if and when you need to! And, with personalised chocolate bars so affordable and easy to create, you can make sure you have your little square of luxury all to yourself; you deserve it!
