Tropical Guayabera Shirts

One of the popular fashion trends among men and women these days is the guayabera shirt

. This shirt, also known as a Mexican Wedding Shirt, was first seen in countries with tropical climates, such as Latin America, the Caribbean, and the West Indies. Usually made from cotton or linen, the shirt is comfortable for use even on the hottest days.

Guayabera shirts first hit the US market as shirts for older men. However, the revival of retro fashion and the shirts comfortable features made these popular among younger crowds. As the market for these shirts expanded, clothing companies launched brands that specialized in guayabera shirts. Brands like Cubavera started to exclusively manufacture guayabera attire not only for men but for women and kids as well.

Many of these brands were deeply influenced by the atmosphere and laid-back culture of tropical countries. Guayabera shirts may look too casual for some, but these shirts are acceptable as office wear in states with hot weather. Other brands also market accessories and merchandise such as playing cards, cigar cutters, and cigar cases.

These brands clothing collections, however, center on guayabera attire. The creativity of these brands designers led to the creation of many shirt designs and styles. A Cubavera shirt, for example, may come in colors such as blue, white, brown, and black. Many guayabera shirts also sport a variety of striped, floral, leaf, and feather patterns.

Like typical Cubavera shirts, guayabera shirts may also come with short or long sleeves. Short-sleeved guayabera shirts are perfect for casual days at the office and for parties. Long-sleeved shirts, on the other hand, are more ideal for more formal occasions such as weddings and other corporate events. Most of these shirts come with a collar, so the wearer wont have to worry about the shirt looking too casual.

A popular design for guayabera shirts, which can also be seen on Cubavera shirts, is a multi-colored style with vertical stripes. These shirts are long-sleeved, with vertical streaks in white and black. Two of these bars are dotted while the spaces between them are filled with tiny white polka dots.
