Types Of Lighting Pendants

The first thing that strikes when we talk about the lighting pendants is the jewellery

as the word pendent is usually used in connection to describing a jewellery piece. But today we are going to discuss about the pendant light in connection to the decoration lamp suspended from the ceiling. There are many kind of pendants light available in the market to choose from. You can go for either a single pendant look or can also opt for group pendants.

Before finalizing the pendant of your choice, you should consider the height of the ceiling to have these pendants give you the best effect. Advantage of having a group pendant is that you can angle them and control the light intensity. They are attached to an iron rod and if you are innovative enough, give a new look to your lighting designs.

The height for pendant lighting should be ideally between twenty four to thirty inches away from the flooring. If you maintain this specified height, you will have a better illumination covering a larger area.

Most commonly used pendant light is of normal size, but if your choice is to have smaller or mini pendants then the ideal height is between eighteen to twenty four inches from the flooring. If you go for group of pendants, you can make minor changes in the light intensity by changing the angles in particular direction and get the perfect result.

There are five type of pendent: mini pendants, down light, inverted lights, island pendants and kitchen pendant light. An inverted pendant as the name itself explains is reflecting the light on the ceiling instead of the floor unlike other normal pendent lights. It is basically used as a decorative light and helps in creating stylish and unique look. You can use them to highlight your ceiling area.

On the other hand a down pendant light can be used for reading purpose as they are produce enough light to illuminate the focused area. These kind of down lights are generally used upon game tables like pool table. You can also use sharp light to have better illumination. If you want additional light then you can go for mini pendants. They are also used mainly for decoration and are hung in line to create a more beautiful and elegant looking room.

Pairing a mini pendant light with your table lamp will create a unique look. You can find these lighting pendants in many stores. You can also look for them online if you do not want to go the conventional way of shopping. You can find them in all types of shapes, sizes and designs. If you are looking for the colourful pendant then you can look for the stained glass painted pendant. The lighting fixtures are made from metals like brass, wrought iron, stained wood etc. As per your budget, you can find them ranging between $20 to $1000.

Lighting pendants are a decorative pieces initially made from crystal but with the changing time gas and electric pendants came in existence. They are constantly changing and the designs are being experimented with. It has come a long way from a simple cross shape chandelier to multi layered electric lighting. But still the classic candle design chandeliers are still popular.
