This UHF Gen 2 handheld RFID reader/writer, model 285001, operates at an ultra high frequency of 865 MHz. It is able to read transponders compliant with multiple protocols including ISO 18000-6B, EPC Class 1 Gen 1, EPC UHF Gen 2 and ISO 18000-6C. It offers a long read distance of up to 3 meters as well as a write distance of up to 1.5 meters with a fast reading speed of 20 tags per second.

The compact PDA style unit, running under the latest Windows Mobile OS, is equipped with a TFT-LCD touch screen with backlight and offers a 12 V DC 4400 mAh LI-ion battery for power supply. It utilizes multiple interfaces such as USB, IrDA1.1, RS232, and TTL for data transfer.
