Efficiency is all about ensuring we get the most from the energy we use. Badly serviced boilers, for instance, will be inefficient and will use more energy than required. Other areas of our heating and lighting are inefficient too.

Energy saving lightbulbs use far less power than traditional lightbulbs, while devices like radiator panels will boost the power of our existing heating systems.

Wastage not only uses energy unnecessarily but also wastes money too. Ensuring our homes are properly insulated and turning lights off when we are not in a room is a start - but we can all do more to prevent wasting energy.

Fitting standby savers on plug sockets will ensure our entertainment devices are not using energy unnecessarily, while covering up areas where heat escapes with draft excluders, letterbox draft excluders and chimney balloons will prevent heat from escaping.

Usage we do not have to drastically change our lives to reduce our energy usage just using different methods can make a big difference. Reverting to drying clothes on a washing line or clothes airer will prevent the need for using a power hungry tumble dryer or you can also find alternative sources of energy.
