The campus at Ramat Aviv has a total land area of 170-acre and comprises of several buildings wherein the Department of Film and Television is situated. DFT is the oldest institute for film and television in the country and was founded in 1971 as part of the Katz Faculty of the Arts. The said campus is also the home of the Recanati School, a graduate school for Business Administration and recognozed by AACSB, internationally famous because of its connection to some business schools in other countries in support to graduate degrees in Business Administration.

In addition, the Tami Steinmetz Center for Peace Research is a premier academic research institution of the university that gathers public opinion about peace process in the way of conducting surveys. The center is also well-known for its "Peace Index" which is divided into General Peace index, Syrian index, Oslo Index, and the Negotiation index.

Today, TAU is the second top university in Israel, next to Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

On the other hand, the Bar-Ilan University is another premier university in Tel Aviv and classified as a business school; it is the second largest academic institution in the country. It is located in Ramat Gan, in the Tel Aviv district and has six facilities. In 2010, the university was ranked 4th place as the best school in Africa and the Middle East by the prestigious QS Global 200 Business Schools Report.
