Unusual Attractions to Visit in Florida

Florida is known as a destination that caters for all the family

. But whatever kind of break you have in mind, you won't be disappointed by what Florida has to offer.

It's not all famous theme parks and obvious locations though. Florida is full of many more unusual destinations too. No matter where you are staying during your holiday in Florida, you can look forward to visiting some superb attractions while you are there.

Take Dinosaur World for example. It may not be the best known theme park in the region but it still packs a punch. You can explore the forests in the Florida Park and find lots of different dinosaurs lurking there. The kids will marvel at being able to walk underneath a life size model of a fearsome T-Rex among other things.

Elsewhere in the region you can visit Bok Tower Gardens. This is a more relaxed day out and since it is open all through the year you can easily plan a visit during your holiday to Florida. As the name might suggest you can expect to see two main things while you are there. The first one is the Tower itself, which is also known as the Singing Tower. It has a strong Art Deco theme that is instantly recognisable as you stare up at this impressive structure.

However the gardens are just as impressive and should not be missed. There are lots of different areas to explore and some of them have been designed specifically with children in mind. Why not set them the challenge of finding some of the secret garden areas as well as looking out over the gardens from the lookout point?

Florida is known for many things, and there is no doubt that one of them happens to be the alligators. One of the best ways to see them is to visit Gatorland, an attraction that aims to educate you about this creature, as well as giving you the chance to see them up close.

There are plenty of things you can get up to with the whole family here. For example, you can take a Swamp Walk and see lots of Cypress trees up close. This is how the swamps used to be over much of Florida. You can also take a look at the inhabitants of Flamingo Lagoon and of course see lots of alligators and crocodiles around the park too.

In reality it doesn't matter where you are staying in Florida. You could choose hotels in Orlando or hotels in various other parts of the region. Wherever you choose to base your holiday you can have a fantastic time seeing some of the more unusual attractions in the area.
