There are several shows that highlight luxury yachts and boats around the world every year

, and this year is no exception. There are some that many people travel half way around the world to attend, whether it is for the attractive surroundings or the boats themselves. Here we have highlighted just a few of the popular shows that feature all kinds of luxury yachts and boats at different times throughout this year.

The Cannes International Boat & Yacht Show will be held during the second week of September of 2010 in Cannes, France. This is traditionally one of Europes leading in water exhibitions, with its unique venue that offers visitors the opportunity to preview the finest vessels on the sea. Owners, buyers and enthusiasts from across the globe gather to view the new boats in the Old Port and the pre owned ones in Port Pierre Canto. 2010 marks the 33rd anniversary of the Cannes International Boat & Yacht Show, and with every passing year it seems there are more new exhibition areas available to accommodate the growing popularity of the festivities.

The 50th annual Melbourne Boat Show is slated to kick off in just a couple of weeks, running from July 1 to July 5, 2010 in Melbourne, Australia. This one has made headlines recently because it has achieved recession defying attendance and holds spectacular sales for exhibitors. Last year, over the course of the five days, there were 37,634 people who attended. BIA General Manager Robert Coco said the strong attendance and extraordinary sales showed that the Show and its exhibitors were offering the public very much what they wanted. We are getting to the core of our boat buying public, making the Show a huge success, he said.

The Sydney International Boat Show is also held in July, from July 29 to August 2 this year in Sydney, Australia. It is managed and organized by the Boating Industry Association of NSW Ltd., and there are more than 250 exhibitors that will be displaying their latest and greatest models of luxury yachts and boats of all kinds. There are five huge halls that are full of the best that the marine industry has to offer, and there is even a specially built marina in Cockle Bay. There is much more to do at the Sydney International Boat Show than just gaze at the vessels; there is food and entertainment too, which will run all day, every day. This huge fun display of luxury yachts and boats is going to be held at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre and Cockle Bay Marina.
