Us To Continue Attracting Saudi Students For Higher Education
For the past few years, the United States has been drawing an increasing number of the Saudi students
. Of the total number of the Saudi students studying abroad during 2010, 30% received education in the US, followed by the UK, Canada and Australia. The main reasons behind this figure were the lack of higher learning institutions and limited job-oriented courses in the Kingdom. According to a new research report by RNCOS, the Saudi government, along with private players, is acknowledging this trend as a potential opportunity to establish well-equipped and modern universities and colleges in the country for preventing students from going abroad for higher studies.
As per the research, Saudi Arabia Education Forecast to 2013, the vocational training and application-based courses are gaining popularity in the Kingdom due to low input costs and better job prospects. Saudi Arabia's Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) will establish vocational secondary schools for students who have completed their intermediate courses. It is planning to train about half a million young Saudi boys and girls in different vocational streams over the next three years. In order to cater to the training needs of the Saudi students, three vocational institutes, including a college of technology, will also be opened in the next five years.
The report provides an in-depth research and rational analysis of the current status and expected position of the education system in Saudi Arabia. It presents forecasts for elementary, intermediate, secondary and higher education segments, mainly focusing on potential student enrollments, requirement of staff, and colleges during 2011-2014. The analysis of the regulatory environment along with the recent industry developments has also been included in the research study to provide a balanced outlook on the potentials of the Saudi Arabian education industry.
