Use 4g Wireless Internet To Help Reduce Paper Waste
Everyone is looking for a way to help save the environment these days
. Vice President Al Gore helped make environmentalism a popular issue several years ago with his documentary film and speaking tours, but the issue hasn't faded from the public eye at all. People all over the world seem to be taking note of the changes global warming has caused across the planet, and everyone is looking for new ways they can change their life to help do their part. Although some technological innovations have clearly caused more damage than good for the Earth, some new technologies are helping reduce waste across the globe. Not only are new forms of recycling growing, but the increasing growth of wireless internet is helping people reduce their paper waste all over the world.
Paper waste is a serious problem. Deforestation occurs to produce many products, but one of those products is paper. Thankfully, within the past decade many paper producers have begun using recycled paper products to lessen the number of trees that are being chopped down for paper products. That kind of innovation is especially important in areas like paper towels or toilet paper because those are products that people aren't going to stop living without anytime soon. Yet other paper products, the the ones that we write on, have become much less important in people's daily lives as computers have grown. People no longer need to use paper to communicate with one another because they no longer use outdated forms of communication such as telegrams or letters sent through snail mail. For the most part, people are using wireless internet connections to send emails, tweets, facebook status updates, and instant messages to one another. Along with eliminating paper waste from these new forms of communicating, they've also rapidly sped up just how quickly people can talk to one another.
Computers are helping remove paper from the waste stream in other ways as well. As the internet has gotten faster and faster and 4G internet connections, which are three times faster than their predecessors, have become available, people have been viewing much more of their content online. People now download and read whole books online, and authors have even written ebooks, which are not even available in print. Many people have started to read their daily newspapers and monthly magazines online as well. This trend has to some extent hurt the publishing industry, which has long relied on subscriptions and print advertisements to get by. However, the trend has also forced advertisers to spend more money online and therefore less money to litter the world with paper advertisements. Thankfully, all of these books, magazines and newspapers will never reach landfills and trees will not have to be chopped down to help create them. As 4G becomes more widely available and as wireless internet connections get faster, more and more people can be expected to switch to getting more of their content online, all of which will help contribute to efforts to stop global warming and to save the planet.
