Using Buyer Psychology Principles To Achieve Successful Conversion Optimization
When it comes to conversion optimization, learning some of the basics of buyer psychology is key
. Most of us have been guilty of impulse buying. You're standing in the check-out line at a department store, and while you're waiting you're confronted with a big bin of seasonal items. They look so cute or good, and you just have to have one, or two, or three. Next thing you know you've added those items to your cart and home with you they go! This is just what you want happening when people visit your website. In order for conversion optimization to happen, people need to be buying whatever it is you're selling.
Narrow in. Picture specific visitors you want to target. Discover what their needs and wants might be. Then dress up your website in a way that will draw them in. If you don't direct your focus, you may collect quite a few viewers, but no buyers. To increase conversion rates do some homework and zoom in.
Address the self. By nature, people are looking to satisfy their own desires, and they like it when they can be met quick and easy. The more "I must have now" oriented a person is, the more likely they are to become a customer. If you focus on reeling in the highly impulsive types, you'll improve conversion rates for certain.
Identify with. Empathizing with your visitors needs by advertising in ways that communicate you understand is another important facet in website
conversion optimization and how it relates to buyer psychology. If you can successfully identify with them, you're one step closer to having them become your customer.
Be the expert. When someone is considering why they might need whatever it is that your website is offering it's important that your website exudes a confident and knowledgeable air. Your visitors probably have some fears, doubts, or questions and they need to be met before they will go ahead and put items into their cart.
Provide solutions. Without answers, conversion optimization is thwarted. By providing answers to any potential dilemmas, you reinforce that you are the expert, and this gives the visitor the confidence they need to then follow through and make the purchase.
Give extras. After a visitor has followed through and made a purchase, it is important that you follow through and reward them for that purchase. Anything from a simple thank you to bonus items will help to fully satisfy your customer. You want them happy so they'll do future business with you.
Next time you're in line at a department store consider how the store is appealing to your own desires and put those concepts into action in your website. Confronting your target viewers in an empathetic and confident sort of way with advertising and items that will meet their desires, is how conversion optimization happens in a big way.
