Using Security Camera at Schools and Universities
New technology enables better school security and this technology is security cameras
, let's see how????
A lot of parents are concerned that their child could be targeted by a sexual predator at school, potential abduction from school, they are afraid of violence at school. Accordingly, it is not surprising that many parents say they would support spending more money on security measures for their school. By installing new surveillance systems or upgrading the existed ones, i.e. by using megapixel IP cameras with ultra-wide angle lenses, can be costeffective, because this would reduces the number of cameras and eliminates cabling and DVRs without sacrificing video surveillance area. In another words; IP-based video systems are more effective than analog systems because of ease of use. With analog technology, systems have more pieces of equipment and are more complicated; besides, long length of cabling, low-resolution video monitors, and many cameras and lenses; they require DVRs to record images from each camera. School district staff would have to log into each DVR locally, then access a specific camera to monitor activity. With digital IP video systems, separate DVRs are not required, so the combination of high-megapixel resolution, up to 5 megapixels with the wide-angle lens, provides more pixels per degree of image, allowing an end-user to zoom in without pixilation.
One of the main concerns in ensuring the safety of students and staff is the system's reliability, and having a huge number of cameras make things more difficult; for example, more than 150 analog cameras could be replaced with less than 50 megapixel cameras with ultra-wide-angle lenses. The new megapixel system would be much simpler and less costly to maintain and monitor. A typical analog camera and lens has a narrow coverage area, or if it does cover a wider area, the resolution is so poor that the image would not be able to provide a legally acceptable viewing of people.
Place a school security camera in the hallways to catch those between class pranksters or anybody trying to ditch out from class early. Make sure nobody is vandalizing your school grounds or trying to sneak to school or sneak away from it.. Moreover, cameras must be located both inside and outside the schools areas. They'll watch what's happening in the hallways, gymnasiums, in the parking lots and streets surrounding the schools. However, they will not be installed in classrooms or bathrooms. Cameras also used to monitor who comes and goes from the school after-hours.
And having security cameras in all the buses would be also great; that would take off the pressure of drivers so they can spend more time driving kids to and from school and less time worrying about who is doing what.
Several schools, colleges and universities are installing more security cameras in their school systems, hoping to reduce crimes such as defacing of property, and even keep students from cutting class. While local residents hope that cameras will prevent drug dealers and child molesters from entering or even moving to the area. Many Law enforcement departments have already used the recorded images and videos in preventing and solving many problems including vandalism and fighting, because students know there is an extra eye on them.
