When some one sees or thinks about a fire that is out of control you think about
fire fighters and the equipment they use to control and put out the fire as quickly as possible. In order for this to happen, fire fighters depend on the person in charge of buying the equipment. The person in charge needs to be up to date with the latest technology and up to date equipment. Not only does this protect our forests but it also protects our fire fighters who put their lives on the line to fight fires everyday.
There are many ways to fight a forest fire. One way is aerial fighting which is an excellent way to help contain and put out a large forest fire. Aerial fighting can consist of heli-bucketing with bambi bucket systems. The bambi bucket is lightweight and flexible and is carried under the helicopter to drop water on existing forest fires. When there is a large fire in the forest this system is used to put out the flames more quickly by doing so from the air.
Another system used for aerial firefighting is a foam system. The sacksafoam one is an injection system that dispenses foam onto an open fire. The sacksoffoam two and the sacksafoam three are used with larger helicopters to fight forest fires.
A fast tank is used to put out a fire quicker. Using a fast tank in conjunction with the bambi bucket systems will enable fire fighters to quickly contain and eventually put the fire out. One use for a fast tank is the heli-tank which is a tank made of durable fabric and resists mold and mildew. It has four inches of filler inlet and has an outlet discharge and ball valve shut off that is one and a half inches. The harness for this fast tank heli-tank is made of heavy duty tie-down webbing that will last through many forest fires.
Another fast tank is the dump truck tank that is compact and easily stores in the bed of any truck. They come in two sizes and includes two straps for easy tie down. It also has a four inch filler cap that has a built-in flotation collar which makes it easier for faster fill ups. It also has a one and a half inch ball valve which is great for fast water discharge.
