Using Vinegar as a Natural Cure for Bacterial Vaginosis - How Helpful Is Vinegar AS A BV Treatment?

I have battled continuously with horrible and recurrent BV ever since I met my partner 10 months ago

. In the past I have resulted to using vaginal deodorants and wipes and constantly washing to mask the smell - but anyone who has ever suffered with BV will know that this just makes it 10 times worse. My nurse told me that the pH of my boyfriend's sperm played havoc with my pH and resulted in me having Bacterial vaginosis - I was left feeling depressed and hopeless because after each round of antibiotics I had a normal smelling vagina for about a week before the horrible fish smell returned.

This time however when I noticed it returning I was careful not to wash my foo foo (vagina) constantly and not to leave sperm in there over night - which tends to make it worse!!

I tried diluting a bit of water with plain vinegar and washing my foo with it with a sponge after my bath - and it's seemed to help a lot with the smell. Is this home remedy all in my head or can vinegar actually be a cure for BV? If it is then it's the answer to my prayers!!

As you might already know, there are millions of women in our society today who suffer from recurrent bacterial vaginosis just like the lady above; and if you look around on the net, you will find thousands of questions just like the one above, asked by women who have this infection and want to treat it.

Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) is the name of a condition in women where the normal balance of bacteria in the vagina is disrupted and replaced by an overgrowth of certain bacteria. It is sometimes accompanied by discharge, odor, and pain, itching, or burning.

Note: If you have BV, do not drink apple cider vinegar as it will make the BV much worse! Some people, however, report that seating in a bath with ACV is helpful for Bacterial Vaginosis prevention. You could also try using plain yogurt. Just put it all up in there and let it go to work.

1) Eat yogurt

2) Drink lots of juice, especially cranberry juice

3) While sleeping, don't wear underwear (in order to prevent stuffiness, preventing bacteria build-up.)

4) Wash with a non-harsh cleanser recommended by your gynecologist, like Cetaphil soap-free wash for sensitive skin.

5) Don't wear tight clothing

6) Dip some tea tree oil and wipe with clean cloth down there

7) Put a careful amount of salt down there (not daily)

8) Eat less sugary foods.

Sugar increases bacteria growth.
