Different countries have different views on things
. Culture, taste, habits. They are all so different.
I have seen many countries and continents in my life and I am always as fascinated about these topics as I was when I was just a child.
Food culture is naturally my favorite. I think it is one of the best things in travelling that you can really dig in deep to the other countries food culture and basically taste their mentality and history. For example countries located on the Mediterranean have their own food culture that really shows up on the plate once you are in the dining table. Even though Mediterranean countries have unique food culture they still have their own secrets.
Second biggest topic for me is the culture around cars. I love getting to know the peoples attitudes towards car industry and to really see what this country is all about. In Island they have a very different car culture than what people have in Spain. In Finland we are far away from what they are in the US.
What makes it so fascinating is the fact that cars can be seen as status symbols, ways of getting from point a to b or in some case they can be seen as a tool for working. This creates the car culture in to a country.
I live in Finland and here it is very important to choose the right tyre (in Finnish: rengas) for the car. You really do experience all the four seasons of the years. Winter being extremely rough and then again autumn and spring being wet and muddy you just have to have the right tyre to go with the car. What makes it fascinating that Spanish people dont necessary think that way. They might think that the tyre is only about grip and taking the heat but they sure dont have to worry about snow or hard winter. Looking at different cultures and especially the culture around cars is interesting.
All in all when you travel you should get to know the culture you are dealing with. Not only is it interesting but it might save you from extra trouble when dealing with the locals.
