Vedanta University Teaching Hospital is part of a very ambitious plan for development of rural area in the global center for education and healthcare, which would be on a par with Harvard, Stanford and Oxford. 500-bed world-class facility, set to open in 2011, will serve as a regional center for critical medical specialties such as cardiology and diabetes, and research focuses on common public health problems in the area. The heart of the project focused on giving back to the community, architects Perkins + will have to carefully turn the area of cultural values by working with local materials and craftsmen to capture India Contemporary Art Trends in the construction plans.
