Video That Boosts Business
Does your business you the power of video for sales?
Does your business use the power of video on its website?
If the answer to these questions is no then your business may need to rethink the way its representing itself online.
Video is a very powerful media tool and with websites such as YouTube getting an amazing millions of hits a week status online , your business could be using these sort of video sites to promote itself.
Many people are changing their normal sales pages to video presentations, these seem for the majority to be vastly more effective and powerful than the usual traditional page upon page of sales jargon, A sales video is reasonable cheap to make and probably ten times better to market.
With lots of free video sites willing to take your content plus the fact the viral effect can have with how many views a video can receive in such a short time.
Now not everyone has the know how to build a video, but it is in fact much easier than you think it is
There are 3 types mainly
Visual recording of just you talking
A video show a task or lesson
A slideshow video
But there are a few things you need before you get started
Firstly you need something to record your video
A webcam or Video Recorder if you want to make a personal video
A microphone if your recorder hasnt one already (these are reasonably cheap these days)
or
A screen recording program to make an instructional video
Camtasia is one of the best known and available under a free trial
(or if your using a Mac) Screen Flow or IShowU
If you want to produce a slide show video then you will need
A screen recording program and some slideshow software
Camtasia, ScreenFlow (screen recorders)
Openoffice or Powerpoint or Keynote (for Mac) (for the slideshow presentation)
So you have the correct software for the task at hand.
Now its a good idea that you follow the software tutorials and get the feel of the programs you will be using.
Then decide what content you want your video to have.
Write bullet point notes of what you want to tell your audience,
Start with a rough copy and then tweek the points into a relevant order
Read these aloud to make sure that what your notes say makes perfect sense
When your happy with your notes then its time to get started
1. So if your making a Real video of yourself just talking to camera
Find a good spot in your home or office to film yourself.
Check that it is has good lighting
You may want to do a trial run to make sure that everything looks ok and sounds ok too
When your happy with that just hit record on your webcam or video recorder and off you go
Very simple.
After filming, check to make sure your video is how you wanted it, reshoot if necessary
Then upload your finished video to YouTube or any other video site
2. An instructional video or lesson
This may be a litlle more technical to produce especially if you want to show how to do certain task within another program (like a photoshop tutorial for instance)
Start again with writing bullet point notes
Do the instructional task yourself first and write your step by step notes as you do them to make sure you have all the instructions covered.
Then set up your microphone to record and have your notes near by to refer to as you walk through the task.
Next you need to start up any programs that you are teaching about or with
Finally start up your screen recording program and select whether you want to record full screen, part of the screen or follow the mouse or cursor movements
Start recording and slowly work through your lesson recording your voice and talking through the steps as you perform it onscreen
Check your video and sound at the end and make sure it is all as it should be
Upload to a video site of your choice
3. A slideshow presentation
Write bullet point notes of what you want to tell your audience,
Start with a rough copy and then tweek the points into a relevant order
Read these aloud to make sure that what your notes say makes perfect sense
When your happy with your notes then its time to get started
Enter your bullet points onto screen slides in Powerpoint, OpenOffice, or Keynote
Keep them fairly simple with nice bold text
Save your presentation as a slideshow
Then open your screen recording software and your Slideshow software
Set up your microphone if you want to have a voice over
Then start to recording using Camtasia or relevant application
Start your slideshow and read out your copy as the relevant slides are showing
Dont read to fast and allow plenty of time for people to read the information on each slide
Review your work and reshoot if necessary
Save and upload to your favourite video website.
Usually video for the web needs to be in MP4 format.
