Virginia Adds Big Rebate Program For Energy Efficient Home Improvements

Calling all homeowners in Virginia! The state has launched its VA Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Program, providing $7 million for energy efficiency improvements and retrofits made by Virginia homeowners for replacement of major systems and equipment-including window and door replacements. Take note that this residential rebate is on top of the $1500 tax credit offered by the federal government, which means that with 20% from the State of Virginia and 30% from the federal package, your cost savings can add up to $3,500. Here's how it works: homeowners wishing to receive a rebate through the Virginia Energy Efficiency Rebate Program must apply online at Virginia's Department of Mines, Minerals and Energy (DMME) website.
