Let me start with a confession:

I've been writing, professionally....in one form or another for my entire adult life. So I thought, that becoming a highly paid article marketer would be a cinch! I expected that it would be easy, effortless and a hassle free way to get rich from home.

I was WRONG. (and yet........as I thankfully learned much later, still right as well..:-)

The Challenge?

There is a tone and tempo to writing articles that MOST people never learn. There is also a quantity threshold, a speed threshold and the right "balance" of intrigue and information that MOST marketers I meet will never master. Said more simply, while writing articles is quick, easy and fairly FUN as well, if you don't know what you're market truly wants to know, or what your audience craves, or what is MOST compelling from a content standpoint, you're going to be spinning your wheels for a long time.

The Invitation? (and the ONE thing I did that made ALL the difference in the world)

I became a mercenary affiliate marketer with my content. In other words, rather than writing articles like this one, I started using my content to sell OTHER peoples stuff, as an affiliate. I would write the articles.....and then direct those who wanted to learn more DIRECTLY to the vendors site, where if they bought....I'd get paid. If they didn't, I wouldn't.

Hit or miss.

Swim or sink.

Skip or trip.

Why was that so important to me.....and will be EQUALLY as important to you/

Because it taught me, through first hand experience, how to write articles that convert like crazy. I learned that if I changed my resource box, for example....that I could DOUBLE, or triple my click through rates....and often, quadruple my conversions on the affiliate offer itself. I learned how to write titillating titles. I learned how to PICK affiliate offers, how to swap them when they didn't convert, and how to create stronger offers as a consequence of what WAS working.

In essence.......I stopped the "brain dump" approach that so many people think article marketing entails. I learned that writing 6 or 700 word articles about MY expertise wasn't really that interesting....and learning to write with succinct speed, sizzle and style was often MUCH more important for turning readers into buyers.

My BEST recommendation is that you start there. Learn the language of what sells, as an affiliate.....BEFORE you start trying to sell yourself. I've generated MILLIONS of readers for FREE using the very simple steps above....and my business has never been better as a result!
