Waste to Energy, Solution to World's Environmental and Energy Concerns

The world needs clean and green energy according to International Energy Association (IEA). As far as IEA is concerned, the quest for alternative energy sources is very essential now that our environment is at risk. The demand of energy is expected to increase by 70% in 2050. And with our carbon dioxide emissions rising every year that would mean devastation for our planet earth if we are not going to do something about it. The IEA insists the absolute minimum of 50% reduction on carbon emissions by 2050. Good thing the energy revolution is already under way.

Breakthroughs on science have significantly helped in discovering ecological ways of capturing energy. For example renewable energy, and capturing of energy from yeast and genetically engineered bacteria are now taking a leap in the energy industry. One flourishing industry and an interesting breakthrough in energy revolution is the waste to energy. Waste to energy is a system of harnessing the combustion of waste to be used for steam turbine generating electricity. This is now a multi-billion dollar industry, which resources come from waste materials everywhere. What is uniquely attractive about this innovation is that, it greatly helps in production of clean green energy while diminishing tons of garbage. The opportunity for this industry is also tremendous since most nations are bound to rely on clean energy to solve environmental concerns such as global warming.

An example of waste to energy system is the biosphere technology of biosphere process system invented and developed by Dr. Chris McCormack, the CEO and Chairman of Global Environmental Energy Corporation. The technology uses gasification process to efficiently convert, recycle and destroy waste materials into marketable by products such as electricity or green energy. Waste materials undergo thermal conversion at elevated temperature and oxygen starved environment. Other known end products of the biosphere process are carbon black, pozzalanic ash or pozzolana, high alloy steel wire, and potable water. This technology not only helps in proper waste management it also mitigates further pollution in the atmosphere by destroying garbage in ecological manner. Its process has passed all European and U.S. standard atmospheric emissions including the latest EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) regulations.

If we are to choose the right solution to world's environmental and energy concerns, then the best so far are renewable energy sources like the biosphere technology. Hopefully many nations would encourage and push for this kind of green energy towards a clean green planet.
