Watch Satellite TV on PCScam?
You may have heard of the fairly new concept of watching TV on your beloved PC. How true is it that this gives you a similar kind of viewing experience to watching your favourite programmes on your TV?
To be quite honest with you, it probably won't give you the same kind of viewing experience. First of all, it is on a PC so the monitor would be significantly smaller than that of your TV's. And if you are used to surround sound from your TV set, then yet again, the sound quality may be lacking as well. But what you should be aware of is that TV on PC services can be hooked up to your TV which is a great bonus and the above negatives will soon disappear.
But putting those things aside for a minute, is "Satellite TV on PC" a scam? The truthful answer is no. This idea of watching TV on your PC has actually been around for 7 years but no one really knew about it back then, mainly due to the majority of households operating dial-up or had slower internet connections.
Needless to say, cable TV is still the more popular way of watching TV nowadays and will still be for some years to come. But it is also fair to say that more and more people are opting for TV on PC and here are some reasons why.
One of the main reasons why people are swapping over to TV on PC is due to the fact that you will only have to pay a one-off fee to watch 1000's of channels unlike cable TV. And the most you will ever have to pay for really good services is $50, whereas for cable TV you can easily be paying more than that a month.
Another big reason is that you can watch TV wherever and whenever you want and there will be no fighting for the remote. As long as you have internet connection, your laptop can act as your portable TV and with the hectic lifestyles people lead today a lot of people are warming towards this concept.
And in case you are wondering, this is 100% legal.
There is also a big misconception that TV on PC services only allows you to watch non-premium channels. This is quite untrue as most PC satellite TV services have a good mix of premium channels within their free terrestrial channels. At least the paid services do anyway. You may just be missing out if you haven't checked out exactly what these services have to offer!
As always, there are pros and cons for both the traditional cable TV services and the TV on PC services, some of which have been discussed above.
