Waukegan New Car News: Kia Venga Unveiled In Frankfurt
True to form, this years Frankfurt Auto Show was an outstanding amalgam of the weird
, the high performing, the conceptual and the efficient. But beyond the stylish vehicles that used to steal the show, a lot of manufacturers revealed their attempts at fuel efficiency and progressive driving. Some appeared to have better potential than others, but a specific vehicle stood out as farther-reaching than any of its competitors: the Kia Venga.
To be quite frank, I wasnt much of a believer in the Korean manufacturer until I stumbled on its September numbers. Amidst the sales woes of manufacturers across the globe, the recession seems to have had less of an effect on Kias affordable line of vehicles. When I had a chance to test-drive a Kia, I was pretty impressed with its overall ability. Lets be honest here: the Rio isnt exactly a Ferrari, but it performed well beyond my expectations.
Walking into my Waukegan Kia dealer, I was able to check out the interior on some of the other Kia models and found them all pretty uniform in practicality. And that must be why practicality was the ticket for the Kia Venga this fall when it debuted in Frankfurt.
With a 103-inch wheelbase (longer than most cars in its class), the Kia Venga is said to have more interior room than competitors in its class. While its interior room is more comparable to the Ford Focus, the Venga has a footprint roughly the equivalent of a subcompact Ford Fiesta. Some models feature a tilt-and-slide all-glass panoramic roof, while all of them will have sliding 60/40 rear seats that fold flat into the floor for increased cargo room. The Venga will soon be appearing at a Waukegan new cars dealership near you.
What your local Waukegan Kia dealer is most excited about is the vehicles fuel economy. The Venga leverages new clean diesel technology including 1.4 and 1.6 gas and diesel engines to produce between 74 hp and 113 hp. All Venga models include Kias Idle Stop & Go (ISG) technology. You can only find cutting edge technology like this at a Waukegan new cars dealership.
While we dont know when the Venga will make it over to North America, the vehicle will launch across Europe later this year. Truly, the Kia Venga is a one of a kind MPV that will satisfy the needs of a wide range of drivers.
Back to the sales numbers for a moment. In a down economy where the automotive industry has been hit heavily, Kia just recently announced global sales numbers for September that have increased by roughly 40 percenta highly significant number in the face of such economic adversity. North American sales numbers have seen a 23.6 percent increase, in small part due to new Waukegan Kia Spectra drivers.
Over the first nine months of 2009, Kia has logged 1,187,795 units sold globally, a number that Kia owners and dealers should take pride in. Kia has answered the call for affordable and reliable vehicles.
