As you diet and exercise you will begin to lose bodyfat. The exercises will have another effect and that is to tone your muscles to give you a firm and fit appearance.. In the end diet is not sufficient to achieve a muscular looking body. Diet has a number of benefits regarding your wellbeing but if you choose to realize a tone and fit look then you have to perform exercises to stimulate your muscles to get them to that point. This is only one benefit that exercising offers combined with proper diet and nutrition.

Proper diet, nutrition and exercise are the necessary triad in losing bodyfat and weight. If you have not exercised in quite some time or never at all, commence gradually with simple exercises that will start to increase your endurance and your tolerance for additional aggressvie exercise.

So eating correctly can cause your body to continuously burn calories.

In doing this your body will develop into a calorie burning machine even when you are not exercising. You will burn calories even when you are sleeping! This is ultimately the state that you would like to accomplish.
